Eucalyptus leave gone crispy, is it dead? Please help

    Scrape the bark of the main stem with your fingernail. If it's green underneath, it's alive If it's brown, it's dead.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    Eucalyptus shrubs/trees grow fast in the summer time, so the other option is to cut it down so it grows again. I doubt many of those spindly branches will rejuvenate. Once they go that crispy, they're more or less dead.

    It's whether the damage has got to the central branch. The area with a high chance of life left will be the low section of the main branch. Keep well watered in the late evenings or early mornings. Daily if it is very hot like now.

    We have a similar problem with a younger smaller tree.
    If cutting it down, would you recommend cutting it down right to the lower section of the main branch or not quite as far as that?

    Eucalyptus can be 'coppiced' and you will get the young foliage which I love for flower arranging.
