Metallic beetles in my lavender

I noticed a cpl of metallic looking beetles on my lavender about a week or so ago. Now there are at least 8 beetles. Should I be doing something or are they OK?

Aren't they beautiful? Beetles fly so there's not much point killing them; the smell of the plant would only attract more.

Over about a week, once or twice a day, I religiously squashed every one I saw. Eventually,I won.😐

They stripped my rosemary of every leaf and it died. Then they started on the sage.
