What to do with Phlox after flowering

bellysherebellyshere Posts: 24
I planted what i sort of remember was a phlox in a tub a few years ago and was wondering what to do once it has flowered. It has flowered really well again this year. Do i need to cut it back at some point and can i chop it into several plants later on in the year as it is getting a bit full in the pot. Am i also right in remembering it was a Phlox?

Yes it's a creeping phlox, don't know the right Latin name. I have the same nd usually just leave it until it looks tatty in the autumn and give it a trim or I suppose you could do that after it finishes flowering to keep it neater. I don't know about dividing but I would assume it's best done in autumn
