Hi I am looking for some help & advice please.
I took several cuttings from Hydrangea Annabelle and they were doing well but all now seem to have gone a yellow shade and stopped growing! Some small leaves have gone brow and fell off, I took the cuttings late march. Can they be helped ?
One is doing a little better and is in a bit bigger pot could this be an issue! I Appreciate your advice it’s my first time propagating

If you look at the bottom of the pot do you see any roots? Have they been in a sunny spot?

no roots at the bottom of the pots, but i added some gravel into pots for drainage so can only see the gravel through the holes. Yes been in fairly sunny spot. Thanks

Hydrangeas prefer shade I find and I think you should try repotting into bigger pots. They also need regular watering.

Thank you will move them into a shadier spot and try bigger pots then, are they too small to be planted into the ground at this stage?
I have been watering them regularly as I do with all my hydrangeas the plants i took cuttings from are thriving which is why I am keen to have more of them as they are expensive to buy.
    Thanks

I would recommend having a good root ball and a sturdy plant before potting on or planting out.
  • Maybe a blessing of sorts as Annabelle are all but superseded in performance by younger cultivars with much stronger stems.
