has this plant got a disease?

Hi all,

I suspect this photonia I planted in my garden has a disease of some sort? I bought them at a reduced price from a garden centre and planted them in the winter and they seem to be shedding leaves continually and look very sparce. as you can see from the images, many of the leaves also have light spots on them.

does anyone know how I can nurse them back to health? or are they un-saveable?

Thanks,
Jamie

Looks like it's short on water.  Clear any grass and weeds from around the base in a half metre diameter and slowly pour on 2 bucketfuls, 3 times a week, and I'm sure it'll pick up.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I agree. It looks like it could do with a good drink.
