Salix Flamingo leaves

Hi there, I hope someone can offer us advice.
We planted a Salix Flamingo last July and lightly pruned in the Spring. The tree is exposed to wind and sun which has swept the top of the tree to one side.
I was hoping the leaves would be longer and brighter by this time and wondered if there is anything I can do to help encourage the white / pink pretty look.
I water every day. Thank you

  • Just to add we have a small garden but are doing our best. We do have the option to move to the back where it can be more sheltered but this may seem extreme.

Prune it each Spring to get it to the shape you want.  That will encourage new growth, and it's the new growth which has the best colour.
  • Thanks, sounds like we needed to prune much more. Would it make sense to pinch the end shoots now?
