Terracotta pots

I have searched far and wide for the really large terracotta patio type pots, along the lines of the shape pictured. (I don’t mind the various aged looking appearances). Not the fancy shapes and patterns. The selection at the garden centre is pants and I can’t find anywhere online after hours of searching. I can see why there is a national shortage after watching Gardeners World.. Monty must have hundreds in his garden! 😆 every time I watch and see them laying everywhere I know he is just rubbing my nose in it!

  • Worth mentioning the photo you used is of a plastic pot...you can find tonnes of online sellers dealing in citrus pots. Ceramic ones will have different distribution of ridges due to they fact they have a structural function. They cost quite a lot because they will last for a while and most at that size will be handmade.

    Here's a respected seller: https://potsandpithoi.com/114/Citrus

Monty does like his posh pots...a lot of them by Whitchford Pottery...us mere mortals can aspire to a couple 😂

Some of the plastic ones look very convincing. Maybe worth considering.

I have just been looking into this and we’re going to spend the not-going-to-the-hairdressers-for-three-months dividend on a couple of nice pots. In the end we chose Italian Terrace, our very favourite supplier, but did look at
    Mud Mountain
    Whichford Pottery
    Gardenesque
    The Terracotta Pot Company
    World of Pots
    Pots and Pithoi
    Cretan Pot Shop
and the Yorkshire Terracotta Pot Company who sell through Crocus et al.

    We chose Stemma.

Delivery is sometimes free and sometimes as much as £50 so factor that in.

  • Hi Ben

Thanks for your message. I’ve been looking at this for most of the day 🙄 and omg your hair must need a lot of regular attention. The prices!! 😮

I watched Monty again to make a guess at the size I liked the look of and I’d say it’s 70cm high... so drumroll, it would cost £465! That’s the one I like unfortunately.

We went to Whichford Pottery a few years back, stunning pots but the prices! Way out of my price range. Came home with a titchy little one just to say I'd got one. I keep lily-of-the-valley bulbs in it.

  • Made me laugh Lizzie, at least you came back with a pot rather than a pencil with the pottery name on it 🤣

Me? Nah! £7 a go at Mr Snips but Mrs Cotto does like the fancy place in town. I have had exemption from dentist’s fees and adult education charges so that’s my contribution.

Personally I am not enamoured by the Whichford pots. I expected stronger designs.
