Tree disease/ fungus

Can anybody identify the fungus on my tree and advise of how to treat it? Thank you in advance.

    First glance they remind me of King Alfred's cake fungus but they are usually black.
    If you cut one are there concentric rings inside?
    If this is a fungus then the tree has had some damage and the spores have taken the opportunity to spread.
