Apple tree - is it frosted or diseased?

My young (and transplanted last Autumn) apple tree has sparse yellowing leaves some of which have dropped. The fruit buds seem fine and plentiful this year. We had a late frost which did some damage to a new hornbeam hedge- is this likely to be the culprit? It is watered...should I feed it? Thanks.

    Have you a photo?
It could simply be dehydrated. They need a good bit of water - especially when young and in their early years while establishing. The dropping foliage suggests that.
Is it in the ground? How and where are you growing it?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Hi there,
It is in the ground. I've given it a lot of water recently and I think it is picking up thanks! We moved it then forgot about it....I will put up a pic!
