Runner Beans

My beans are very slow, possibly too much nitrogen in the soil, can I remove what on any other plant, would be the bottom two seed leaves ? They have gone part yellow

The seed leaves will drop off on their own soon, no need to pick them off.
Keep the beans warm for a while then gradually harden off before planting out.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

I wouldn't worry too much, Bakes3147.  Runners are resilient little blighters which shake their heads and then make up for lost time.  Mine were caught by a rare couple of early frosts (outside).  The leaves turned very sickly looking, but I left them to it and they're now forging ahead.  I think you can worry too much?
