Lawn mower issue

I have a self propelled Honda Izzy and recently topped up the oil. Ever since doing this the mower does not appear to be running smoothly, ie, it makes a sort of pulsating noise as opposed to a nice purring sound. I believe I have possibly put too much oil in. Will this naturally cure itself by burning it off or is there something i can do to fix it? t i a

check the dip stick when the engine is cold.
If there's too much oil it will harm the engine . Tip it onto its side and tip some oil out into a metal tray if there's too much.

Hi @Hostafan1 thanks for reply, will tipping it up not affect the petrol?
