    I do similar, @Obelixx only I shred mine directly into the bin - it's amazing how much you can get in that way.  I use the 'dredgings' to top-dress my blueberries with excellent results.

    That's a great idea @BobTheGardener.   Too hot for blueberries here but I bet the red and blackcurrants will appreciate it.   I shall be planting up a new comfrey patch in the next week or so with any luck.  Have to wait for the undergardener to dig over a patch of ground for me first.

    It's really useful to have several patches @Obelixx - I'm able to crop different patches at different times, so there always plenty of flowers left for the bees.   :)

    Miine are creamier than that and will be liberated from a very dry bed - as we've discovered - to a long bed at the back of the potager where I don't plan to grow veggies anyway.   There are plenty of nettles there already so it should be good.  12m should do it.
