I don't think the first one is Escallonia though, but I can't recall what it might be.

How do you pronounce it [hemerocallis]  though @Lyn? Have you heard how Chris Beardshaw does?
    Really weird... :D

    1. Definitely Escallonia.
Pic was on side which is why it looked odd.

    I don’t pronounce anything correctly😀😀
I would say Hemer as in hemeroids and callis as similar to  Portcullis with a soft o in the middle.

Havent heard how Chris Beardshaw says it,   You describe that to me😀😀😀

I think I was thrown a bit with the scale too @Silver surfer - it just looked 'big' if you know what I mean! :)

He says Hema-rockaliss, with the emphasis on 'rocka' . It sounded really strange the first time I heard him say it.Never heard anyone else say it like that  :)

    Neither have I  Fairygirl.
@Hostafan1  you’re usually correct in pronunciation having been to gardening school and all that?

The young ones will have to change everything,  my dad used to say, leave em go, it’ll all come back to our way sooner or later.

  • That's how I pronounce it with a hard "ch" in the middle. If it's of interest I'm from the South.
