Shed

Hello I am looking to get a shed, about 7x5 - I have about 800-900 pounds and not sourced shed or base yet.
I live in Oxfordshire. Can anyone make any recommendations about companies to use/avoid for both sheds and bases
Thank you

Have you looked at any websites to see what they offer for your budget. £800 seems an awful lot to pay for a small shed but then I don't need a shed so gave never looked!
There are sites that deliver and erect it for you.
Some different websites are actually the same company and a lot do post reviews.

That does seem a lot of money to pay for a shed of that size so I suggest you do some research online first. I think we bought our current shed from either Homebase, Wickes or B & Q (so long ago I can't remember!) and probably didn't pay more than £400 for it - it's lasted 13 years so far and seems fine.

We have looked online, no idea what the cost of a base because of lock down it have struggled to get a quote. Also now idea if a shed from homebase etc are good.

Like Lizzie I think we bought one from Wickes also bought a potting shed type but cant remember where from but an onlibe supplier. I do remember it came with a set of wooden sort of fence posts for making a base and we just laid these on top of bricks and put the shed on that. Had landscape fabric on top of the  the soil and a bit of plastic between the brick and the wooden batten.
All sheds are made in a similar way fairly rough shiplap panels with a sterling board roof and floor so chose a supplier that gets good reviews for customer service in case there are problems.
More expensive sheds will be made with smoother timber and do look nicer if it's more on show.

God I'm such a beginner... The thought of the posts and bricks and fabric terrifies me lol.

    Take a look here @pinkapants
They're up here, but they deliver from central warehouses etc for most of the bigger structures

I've used them a few times and they've always been reliable.  :)
Perhaps you have a good local joiner who would quote for putting it up too. You need a good sound base to start with, but they would address that too.
I redid the one here, as I moved the shed, and just repurposed some of the slabs that were here, and a bit of concrete to adjust the slight slope.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

We got an ex-display model a couple of years ago from Yarnton garden centre, just up the A44 from Oxford, for a very good price. They dismantled, delivered and reassembled it for us. We got someone local to lay some paving slabs for a base first.
