My Senetti is not doing well at all - what am I doing wrong?

Hello there!

I bought a few of these "Senetti" plants and from Sainsbury's last month.

One seems to be doing OK, the others are struggling to various degrees.

I have put them in full sun, as that's what I read they like. and water them every evening.
They are still in the pots and soil they came in from Sainsbury's.

I am a complete beginner, so any tips, however obvious they may seem to you, will be very welcome.

Also, could I ask - is there a "right way" to deadhead flowers? Or do you just cut them when they look dead?

Thank you!

I grew a load of these from seed last autumn and enjoyed the flowers earlier in the year. I found that they flagged very quickly in full sun and in just multipurpose compost it was best to dunk them to ensure that it was fully moist, as water often runs off the surface when it is really dry. They carry a lot of foliage and it has been very hot, with sometimes drying winds as well, if they are outside. Make sure that they are  really moist and move them somewhere cooler in partial shade and they should be a lot happier. Water well at the first sign of wilting.

I agree with @Buttercupdays 😊 but I think I’d also pot them on into bigger containers now ... I suspect the compost they’re in is totally full of roots now.
Give them a really good soak by standing them in a container of water up to the rim for a couple of hours, before potting on.
    Hope that helps 😊
