the "mysterious "door in my garden
Well the door was rotten and unusable, but I didn't really need it and would cost a lot to replace, so I planned to paint it white, but then thought I would have a go at painting some trompe l'oeil panels. The family thought it looked so good that it was then crying out for a handle (a lovely rat tail one ) and a knocker and well a lamp would look good and why not a window mirror? with the light on at night it is hard to believe there's years of accumulated junk behind. So something utility has turned into a real feature; I'm rather proud of it. I wouldn't mind something to grow up and round the window; ivy would I think be too rampant and there isn't a lot of space, so any suggestions?
I noticed Monty has a door in the garden with a gothic appearance, some great hinges, and I have got space at the end of the garage...umm

Clematis every time for me in that site
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
The macropetalas are also excellent in a similar situation.
