Can anyone help identify this?

Hi forum,

I recently massively cut back two climbing plants which had completely intertwined and were taking over my patio. One (not pictured) I have identified as a clematis armandii, but I don't know what this one in the attached photo is. To be honest, I thought they were one and the same until I cut them back and saw that the bark on each was different. I would really appreciate any help with identifying it!

Also, any tips on training a clematis along a fence and preventing it from becoming a monster again would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Liz

Looks like a jasmine - some are very vigorous!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
