"Resistafly" carrots - still need mesh/netting?

We've just set up a new raised bed at our allotment and planted some "Resistafly" carrot seeds.

How well does Resistafly tend to work in the open? Should we still be taking some action in terms of netting or similar to keeping the dreaded flies away?

Never successfully grown carrots before so any hints much welcomed.

I have never grown Resistafly . I always grow Autumn King under an insect proof net and never have a problem with carrot fly

As far as I understand it they will still lay eggs on the carrots but the larva do not survive, so if you are ok with small holes then no no need for netting. BUT big disclaimer I have never grown them myself.

I grow autumn king without any netting or protection - I just sow lightly and never ever thin out. Never had a carrot fly issue, maybe I'm lucky...

I grew them last year without netting, no problems.

Grown in a 50/50 mix of MPC and used coffee grounds, makes a nice light bed.  Also use ‘pelleted’ seeds for ease of sowing and no need to thin out.
