Need help my plants are dying!!

So I have a flower bed which is fine it used to be a pond and I have fox gloves, campanula, leucanthemums, achillea and some shrubs etc in that and I have had literally no problems with that! But when  it comes to my pots it just seems to be pot luck excuse the pun whether they flourish or die! They start of fine and then then their leaves start becoming brown and dry and then shrivelled and die! What am I doing wrong! I've been a keen gardener for about 3 years now so as I said some years all is well and then others it all seems to go a bit arse up!! I know I'm doing something wrong but not sure what, as I'm still learning! 🤔

It's probably watering. Too much or too little

Location of those pots, and what's in them as well
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

We all started somewhere 😊 ... tell us more about what plants you’re growing and where you’re growing them.
Photos will help us to help you 😊

Really sounds like lack of water to me. In this sunny weather you may have to water them twice a day.

Did you leave enough space between the soil and the top of the pot so that the water does not run off? I regularly notice that new gardeners tend to fill the pot to the top, leaving no space to water.

The pots might need watering every day in the summer, esp if in full sun.

So basically I've got some Achillea which is totally dead now, potted in a troph with multipurpose compost but put gravel at bottom for drainage and have been watering every day in this heat, the compost felt wet but the plant was brown and shrivelled, also some fuschia which usually grow really well in my garden, with compost vermiculite and coco peat mixed for potting mix, lobellia is growing but leaves are browning crisp, again with my home made potting mix they all sit in sun for about 4-6 hours a day maybe more then slightly shaded for rest of the day!! I have potted in just multi purpose compost before and the same thing happens sometimes! Also u feed them once a week with diluted miracle grow! I'll try and post some pics but I worn you am not very good with technology!! 😁
