Weeds in newly seeded lawn

Hi guys, I had my lawn seeded for the first time. The front was done 27 days ago and the back was done 24 days ago. There is a fair amount of weeds growing now and I’ll include some pictures. I’m the definition of a novice gardener and was just wondering if I should pull the weeds. I’ll be able to get a lot of them without walking on the grass but there are some sections I won’t be able to reach and would have to walk on the grass to pull them. This is my first garden and my first house and from reading up about this issue some websites say I should pull the weeds if I can and others say I should leave it alone as mowing will get rid of a lot of the weeds. Just wondering what is the best option. There seems to be 2 types of weeds, a grassy one and then in patches there’s loads of a smaller leafy one. I’d be happy enough to spend the time going round and pulling them and hopefully the grass will crowd out future weeds. Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated.

I wouldn’t worry about them. Mowing will deal with them as long as the blades are sharp.

If you want an immaculate lawn then the grassy ones are the ones to take out by the roots ... but it’ll be a never ending task and if you don’t plan to become a full-time green keeper 😉 most of us just ignore them.

Some of those could be ones which were present, and lying dormant or not properly removed, before seeding. As @Dovefromabove says, regular mowing will help once you're at that stage.
Most of us do put up with the odd weed here and there. It can become a chore rather than a pleasure if you get too bothered by it. Over time, weeds seed in too, so it's just a case of removing the most annoying ones, and accepting the others, unless you want to spend hours and hours on it.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Hey @Dovefromabove Thanks for the advice. That sounds good about leaving them and keeping the blades sharp for mowing. I actually don’t own a mower yet and have been looking into getting one over the next couple of weeks as I’m sure it’ll be a while before I can do the first mow so at least the blades will be sharp 😀 I’d quite like one with a rear roller. I was tempted to pull the weeds just so it would give the grass the best possible chance but if mowing will take care of most of them then that would be brilliant. I wouldn’t pull them all the time going forward but was tempted just as a one off. I did pull a couple of the grassy weeds and the roots are massive on them so quite hard to get out properly. I’d imagine a lot of people go through this when weeds start to grow.

Thank you @Fairygirl You gave me some great advice about watering when I posted previously after my garden was sown at the start of may. There were 13 houses done at the same time and the difference is amazing in mine and the ones who haven’t been watering so thanks for your previous advice.

That sounds good regarding just accepting some weeds as I wouldn’t want to be spending hours and hours weeding all the time. I just felt there was a lot at the minute and I might do a quick sweep of the worst ones. Then let the mower do the rest once I actually get one in a couple of weeks 😃
