Cordyline appears to have some sort of pest

Hi new to this forum but some advice would be fantastic.

I have a cordyline which I've had for 2 years and has until a few weeks ago thrived.

I have noticed on the tallest stem, pests such as woodlouse and other things appear to be living in it. This has caused a distant yellowing of the leaves and no new leaves have grown.

Would be greatful if anyone could provide some advice on how to remove such thing and help to get growth restarted.

Thanks Steve

Hallo skol22, and welcome to the forum!  Your cordyline looks very healthy.  Wood lice are not pests, they are very useful in gardens.  Their diet is mostly dead and decaying plant matter; by digesting it and pooping it out, they help break it down into simple compounds that plants can take up.  Their mouth parts are fairly feeble, I doubt they could bite anything as tough as cordyline.

The damage is more likely to be shortage of water, given we've had hardly any rain for three months.  If you're in the UK, that is.  I notice you've got nothing under the pot to keep some water available for it.  Could you plant it in the ground?  I tried to dig out an unwanted cordyline that came with the house; hopeless, the root went down far deeper than I could dig. It was like a giant carrot.  If you can't plant it out, could you move it into a bigger pot with some fresh compost?
