Loving all the pearl clutching at the idea of bedding plants btw...as if annuals can't be a part of a pleasurable garden.
All the pearl clutching?  You mean that one poster who said they don't plant them?  :D

Yip unfortunately garden centres aren’t open in Scotland yet
but then I can’t go when they open as shielding for 12 weeks which hopefully not be extended

I would go with what's available but cosmos would be my favourite. There are a number of bedding plants that I would rather have bare soil than plant. Municipal red salvias, bilious african marigolds, that silver thing and anything Barbie pink
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Ah I see, so you'll need a delivery?

Not sure if it counts as bedding. I grow ammi majus to plug gaps.
I guess "bedding" on this thread is taken to mean "annuals". I'm not sure that's really the same thing.

@gjautos can I ask how long your ammi stays in flower?  I have a load of plugs coming soon on the cheap, but suspect their main flowering time will be long over by the time they arrive. I'm hoping to spur them on to good (if belated) heights and with any luck sow self seed for next year.

True but I know that feeling of 'there's a gap, must fill it with flowers immediately!'

Fire, i give them a sprinkling of bfb and generally they flower from mid june to october. I will often do two sowings just incase the kids stand on some or they die off, but I've always been lucky with them. I deadhead them but otherwise i leave them be. My garden is southwest facing and I'm in Buckinghamshire so its pretty mild here generally.

I've got shed loads of antrrhinum. I like them well enough but not that much , a few comos that the slugs didn't want.,three pink lavatera that won't go with anything, some spare tomato plants and a lot of empty space in concrete clay. I might brave the garden centre tomorrow😐.

Too late now, but if you can, buy a packet of White Wild Flower seeds from Wilco next year,  all mixed but lovey flowers, I bought them last year and again this year.
lots of Ammi in there, yes, they bloom for a long time, whoever above asked about them.
They all germinate very easily, then prick them out individually so you can plant them in groups.
I’ve also bought a blue pack this year as well.

I could send you white Antirrhinum seeds if want for next year.
