Cytisus

We have a red Cytisus which is about 3 years old, it's very spindly and just a few flowers at the top. Should we dig out and dispose or can we save it?

    They never look the same after pruning and a new one is only the price of a nice bunch of flowers so I think discard the current plant and get something new.
