Plum tree being stripped of leaves and fruit dropping

Young plum tree - lots of fruit this year rapidly disappearing with the leaves which look eaten. We try to garden organically  - should I spray with a mild soap and water mix - or any other ideas please!? I was so looking forward to those juicy plums!!!

If you can't see what's eating the leaves, I wouldn't spray.  Are the leaves definitely eaten, or have they just been damaged by the wind and frost?  Could you post a picture to help us identify the problem?
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Can you upload any photos?  Those would really help.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I have a couple of 2 year old plum trees and they're losing some of the smaller fruit. I think it's the June drop, well, I hope it is!

Pics are not brilliant...I'll keep trying. We do have voracious wood pigeons

  • Hi hope you don’t mind me jumping on this thread but I have a mature Victoria plum about 10ft high that had been abandoned for the last 6/7 years and with lockdown decided to change the garden and had to prune it back to be able do as I wish
I've pruned it back Hard to about 6ft and have been told I’ve prob killed it

My question is will it grow back

We have pigeons eating the leaves of plums, greengages and cherries in our orchard. They started doing this last year.
    The trees did recover.
The fruits was then taken by blackbirds and magpies!
We can't net as too big and have put up different things that move in the wind.
They take no notice and move up higher.
Re last question. Wrong time to prune but too late now. Need to wait and see and do some watering to allow the tree to get over the shock.
