Laurel/ looks like burnt tips

amberspyamberspy Posts: 382
Hi guys
aware there’s a laurel thread
but nothing wrong with mine growing
tonight when I was watering them I noticed the tops of them looked burnt
I expected whole plants this only seems be at top
at first I was wondering if they were actually burnt as this definitely wasn’t there other day
we had high winds over the weekend now it’s hot not sure it’s that’s affected it
can anyone advice pls
thanks 😊

Sounds like weather damage ... although given its changeability just recently, whether it’s drought, frost, heat or wind ... who can say? 🙄

Im sure it’ll be fine .... nipping the growing tips will encourage it to thicken up nicely. 😊

It's exactly as @Dovefromabove describes. Nothing to worry about.
I just looked at one of mine yesterday as I was going in that direction. All nipped on the new growth with all the recent frost. It just gets picked off - if I can be bothered.  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
