Tips for maintaining a lawn on sandy soil

As per the title are there any tips specific for keeping a healthy lawn on sandy soil please ? Is it a case of the usual scarification, spiking and top dressing with feeding or am I missing anything. Ideally I want to use as little water as possible, although I have been forced into that with the recent drought in East Anglia having seeded some bare patches
