Pond species identification

Hello, I have moved into a new property with fish and a pond (no filter). The pond is covered in the plant in the photos attached attached and no matter how much I scoop out the pond is covered again in the morning. The fish eat it, I think (?) although now I'm not sure they're not coming to the surface for air. What is the plant and is it a problem for my fish? Any and all thoughts appreciated! I've never had a pond before.

duck weed. More of a nuisance than a "problem"

Agreed it is duck weed. We inherited it when we bought some pond plants and have never been able to get rid of it. It can blanket out the water and the fish maybe (especially with the warmer weather and no rain) are coming to the surface to gulp air.

You really just have to keep scooping it out - with a net or similar, if it gets too invasive.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
