White spots on patio

Hi was wondering if anyone has a good remedy for removing white spots from patio slabs? I think it is Indian sandstone. Are the spots a type of lichen?

    Yes I think they are a type of lichen. Shows you have little pollution in your area.
    Use a jet wash. This will make the slabs cleaner and quicker.
    If not you could try weak solution of bleach (wear gloves). Do not use anything abrasive or you could damage your slabs but check whether the sandstone (if it is sandstone) is OK with bleach by testing a very small area first.
