What rhododendron/azalea

Does anyone know what this rhodo or azalea is please? The pompoms are 4" across and the shrub is 5 - 6' tall.
East Dorset, new (to me) rather neglected garden.

I'm afraid there are so many it would be difficult to make an ID. Some have quite dark, chestnut coloured new growth, like the  pic below. If yours has that, it may narrow it down too. This one had very similar flowers, but I  inherited it, so no idea which one it was.
@Silver surfer may have some ideas.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Is deciduous or evergreen?
    Do they have any scent?
Colour from pics can alter true colours.
Trouble is there are so many that are rather similar.
Even experts struggle with an id, with the plant in front of them.

    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .
