Tatarian honeysuckle

SalsmithySalsmithy Posts: 28
Hi everyone. I have a plant in my garden, I don’t know what it is. I’ve researched it and think it’s a Tatarian Honeysuckle. I’ve read this is an invasive weed. Should I remove this? Thanks 🌺

    Are you in the UK?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

It looks like an ordinary honeysuckle to me, or something similar. I've never heard of Tartarian honeysuckle

    Type your https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lonicera_tatarica

thanks, that’s good. might still need to come out though as not the right place for a honeysuckle 🌺

I’m not convinced that’s a honeysuckle. It looks more like a Hypericum shrub. Perhaps Hypericum Androsaemum.

...that's a seedling Hypericum not Lonicera tatarica, which isn't invasive anyway, and there are some really nice types of that... but yours is Hypericum... grow it on, you might get a nice one like mine..

That’s lovely, thanks. Think I’ll move it to a more suitable position and see how it develops. Least I know it’s a keeper. Thanks everyone 🌺
