when to lift my first earlies

my first early potatoes are growing well with lots of green, i have ridged up , do i have to wait for flowers before digging up ? or the green to die off, or is it safe to dig them before this ?

    My yardstick is to put a note in my diary 14 weeks after the day I plant them.  That's the day I try them first and judge things from there.  Another maxim is that 'if there's flowers on top, there's spuds underneath!'  If blight is likely, some cut the tops off at first cropping stage to reduce the risk.
