Ground Level Veg Trough

We are looking to grow veg for the first time and are looking to buy a ground level trough (not one on legs) to go on our decking. Could anybody recommend the ideal height and depth of a trough which is 200cm wide please? Also, any recos on where to buy a trough please-we’d heard Woodblocx troughs are good.  As we want to raise it very slightly off the decking so the decking doesn’t rot, can anybody recommend what to buy for this purpose please? Many Thanks

Hi @simonutting - it really depends on what you want to grow, but ideally - about 18 inches/45cm at least, to give you some scope.
You can simply use pieces of timber to raise it up, or bricks. Doesn't have to be anything special   :)
I've never bought troughs as I make my own stuff, but some one might be able to advise on that  :)

I've sometimes used a company called Greenfingers for odd things though, and they may have something to suit you.

I notice that Wayfair are having a big sale. This trough is about half price. Seems like a good deal. You could line it and prop it bricks/blocks etc. It doesn't fit your size spec. though. I've used old railway sleepers to make a bed. They last a lifetime.
