Growing astrantia from seed

IzyIzy Posts: 5
I collected and sowed astrantia seeds in late summer last year (from a mix of varieties), and left the seed tray outside overwinter. I had a number of seedlings germinate and duly planted them on into modules! They are currently in a partially shaded greenhouse, but I think I should take them out of there soon to avoid them getting too hot and drying out.

Can anyone tell me how big the new plants are likely to get this year, and when I can expect the first flowers? - this year, or next year? It would help me decide where to plant them! I think they will be hardy enough to be left in the ground this coming winter (West Midlands, at 230m), do you agree?

The pictures below show the stage they're currently at - some germinated earlier than others and are therefore bigger!

Too small to plant out, need to really fill a 2l. pot. I would keep them in pots this year.
I doubt you will get flowers this year, but maybe a late flush.
    They are very hardy.
How can you lie there and think of England

Ok, thanks! I will keep an eye on them in pots for now then and only plant them out once they've got to a good size. I'm pleased they germinated - if I'm getting new astrantia plants (nearly) for free then I can wait until next year for flowers.
