Bee hotel using Bombay Sapphire bottle?

I would like to cut off both ends of a large glass gin bottle, and recess bamboo canes to 150mm inside, with the bottle overhanging both ends of bamboo for protection from rain. I worry, however, that despite the open ends and insulation provided by the bamboo, the glass walls might be too warm for the bees on sunny days. Does anyone know if this worry is needless?

Glass magnifies heat and light so you'll cook the bee larvae - not a good idea. make a wooden surround.
