Shade plants

Can anyone suggest some shade tolerant plants please?
I've got a planting bed by a fence that is in almost constant shade. The soil gets very damp as underlying soil is clay. This past winter it was very waterlogged but I'm hoping that planting this area will help reduce this.
I've currently got some Skimmia, Sarcococa and a Fern in this section but want to plant more but wasn't sure what would be best.

    Hello @naomi.gilbert66,

Trollius would do well in that situation ... and also astilbie ... both are lovely plants.

What about some bergenia?  They're hardy and will cope with shade.

In addition to the above, Camassias and Acteas are tall, and therefore give a bit of height. Acteas make big clumps so they're good if you have room.
Hellebores, Native primulas, Heucheras, Polemonium [Jacob's Ladder] , and Polygonatum [Soloman's Seal] are all good. Many hardy geraniums will thrive.
Hydrangeas if you have room. Many shrubs are fine - but make sure there's room for their eventual size  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
