mixed lawn grasses

There are lots of different grasses in the lawns some that have self seeded from fields, the annoying coarse grass and different shaded grass never mow out and leave the lawns looking mess.
This might sound crazy but a mower that could do something similar that a scarifier does that is lift the coarse grass into an upright position and then the mower cuts the fine and coarse grasses on the same pass, so basically tines on the front of the mower.
I know a lawn rake will do this but to mow lots of lawns a mechanical solution would be needed.
Any Dyson folk of the gardening world ever designed anything like this?
