Young Pear Tree Leaves going black & curled

I have a 4 year old pear tree. in 2018 it dropped nearly all its fruit, otherwise healthy. Last year (2019) after blooming, most of the leaves went black on the tips as if they had been burnt, and some leaves curled. We picked most of them off, pruned it back a bit, and later in the year it come in leaf again and looked healthy. I wondered if i had overfed it...

This year - It has recently bloomed fine and all leaves healthy and glossy - and I have just noticed they have gone black at the edges again. Worse, the pear tree nearby (2 years old) is showing similar. We live in Moray, quite dry / sandy soil and windy at times. We had a frost about 2 weeks ago. Is it wind / frost / drought - or might it be disease ? Thank you . Photo attached

It's probably a combination of the things you mention.  If you haven't already, clear a 1m diameter circle of ground around the trunk as fruit trees do not compete well with grass and weeds which will take up all the goodness in the soil.  I would give it a really good deep watering - 2 or 3 bucketfuls every 2 to 3 days until the leaves fall in autumn.  To better control feeding, I would then mulch the area with well-rotted manure (or garden compost with a sprinkling of fish, blood and bone) which will provide a nice slow rate of feed which won't harm the tree by being too concentrated and will also help prevent evaporation from the soil.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
