Chitting potatoes have turned green

Hope this isn’t a daft question but I’ve been chitting potatoes on my windowsill for the past 2 weeks and in the past couple of days they’ve turned very green! Is this normal? I know you can’t eat green potatoes as they’re poisonous but will this effect the rest of the crop? 

Also how will I know when they’ve chitted enough to plant them? Totally new to this so any advice would be fab!

    It's nothing to worry about and always happens. :)
    I would recommend planting them ASAP - while the shoots are not at the ideal size, there is growth and that is all that matters.  I put my late-cropping varieties straight in the ground without chitting and they grow just fine. 👍
