CAMPANULA PERSICIFOLIA

I read I should deadhead these after flowering but the advice is contradictory  One says just snip off the dead flowerhead and another to cut back to the root. Some stems have no other flowers or buds on them apart from those now spent  so should I cut to the root of just the spent bloom ?  Confusing as I want them to continue blooming for longer than the three weeks so far.

I cut the whole spike down when all the flowers on it have finished. Life's too short to be picking off the individual flowers. They do self-seed, but that means free plants and I weed out the ones that come up where I don't want them.

@JennyJ's advice is what I would do too.

Don't grow them any more though - mega slug fodder here  ;)

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
