How can i make my Fern grow more

bedwyrbedwyr Posts: 4
This is the second time ive had this fern and again it keeps loosing leaves and turning brown. And it starts to grow new leaves but they die before growing fully. Anyone can help me make it thrive?! Thanks

  • Ferns do not like a lot of direct sunlight, could that be the problem? They also like their compost to be damp all the time, with high humidity, and they dislike high temperatures.

Maidenhair ferns are very unforgiving. They are the most beautiful, but there are easier ferns to grow.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I have one of these ferns and it is very happy living in an unheated North facing porch, with good daylight and no direct sunlight. It gets blasted with cold air whenever the outer door is opened in winter and doesn't mind at all. I keep an eye on it and water whenever I see the leaves begin to droop a little.
Yours would probably benefit from some where cooler and out of the sun as already posted. I think maybe remove the moss for now, as the tiny, fragile leaves have to push through it and are maybe getting slightly damaged in the process and it prevents you seeing how dry/moist the soil is.
