I had been admiring this plant of my neighbours over the fence and asking him what it was, he didn’t know but kindly gave me a clump anyhow!

His are positioned in full sun and seem to be doing well. Could anyone kindly ID For us and I can Find out what they are and see if they can tolerate a more shady spot too?

Persicaria bistorta superba...loves moist places.
When happy it will spread.

They don't mind shade, mine must be happy as they spread like mad, (all Persicarias do here,) but they have an AGM so must be OK

Thank you @Dovefromabove @Silver surfer @Buttercupdays for your responses. I have slotted it into a free space in a semi shaded border, hopefully it will be as happy at mine as it was next door!
