White eggs(?) on allium flower - what are they?

Can anyone identify the cause of these round white bits on an allium flower? Are they eggs, or some sort of deformity? The allium variety is Purple Sensation, so the white bits are actually quite large, perhaps about 5mm diameter. If they are eggs, what of? - I will remove if a problem pest, but can cope with a bit of munching if it's a species in trouble...

I think they are bulblets.  If you leave them until the flower fades , and detach them, you can grow them on into new plants.

Thank you, I can definitely believe that - they have a slightly pointed end and quite a solid look to them. I didn't know that aerial bulbils were a thing until just now! Good to know it's not a pest as well.
