Neighbours Fence

Hi everyone! I’ve seen a few discussions on here about neighbouring fences and screening, but ours is a bit of a problem case given how narrow this patio area is (about 1.5m) which limits our planting options. Any ideas on how to mask the fence my neighbour has just erected?
More info, it is my boundary in the deeds but the fence has been there about 15 years (first put up by her) and she paid to have it replaced without asking permission/opinions etc. I don’t have the money to put in new panels on our side at the mo so not too fussed about this issue, just trying to find a way to hide it for the time being!
Please ignore the state of disrepair in the photographs, we are in the process of redoing the patio!

Thanks in advance! Alice

You could just paint it all a uniform colour, I'd go with black as it would fit with the white wall and mask the mix of materials.

Then place some contemporary pots in front of the fence and grow something with interesting leaf or structure to dominate attention.

I would be very careful about painting the fence without speaking to the neighbour first.  It may not have been her responsibility to replace it, but she has done so for 15 years or more.  The other potential problem with painting your side is paint running down the slats and discolouring her side.
  • I would love to paint it but am very worried about run through as you say KT53. Which is a shame as they screwed in the old trellis from their previous fence on our side so that it supports the new panels... a few layers of old and new wood which would block a continuous finish!
