Runner beans in pots

Hi all,

Have my runner beans germinating in the greenhouse. Wanting to grow them in pots this year. What size would you recommend?

Am i better going for them in separate ones with canes connecting them all together or putting two or three in a real big pot?

Thanks!

I put 9 plants in a 45 cm pot last year and they positively flourished. This year I've got 16 plants in the same sized pot, with a better support system, and I believe with proper watering and feeding, they'll do just fine.
  • Oh wow. i thought i would need that for one plant but that's reassuring then

In a tub that size I usually have four to eight plants, I build a tee pee of canes and grow them up. They still want more room so two tubs built this way with a bridge of cane between them caters for this. If you put more plants than this I dont know how you would find the beans as they would be so matted together. 🤔
