Dry /Dying Gunni Eucalyptus

I have just planted a newly purchased gunni in our north facing garden, but in the sunniest spot. It was never particularly happy and seems to be getting drier and more shrivelled by the day. Its getting well watered but I'm worried its just doomed!?

Wrong plant in the wrong place and it's letting you know. They need much more space to flourish. Does it get too much sun while not getting enough moisture? ...as it's looking so crisp. Eucalyptus is really a terrible choice to put in the ground in a suburban plot. Your call frankly, but if it was mine I'd pot it again and keep it in a large pot eventually for a few years before culling it.

    I agree completely @amancalledgeorge
They need room, and suitable soil conditions, then they grow like mad, which presents a different problem.
However, you can then hack them back and keep them like that, which also means you get the best foliage.

It has to be given the correct care first though. Up against a wall/fence won't be helpful.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thank you so much @amancalledgeorge and @Fairygirl. I'm a total garden novice (clearly) so I'll whip it out first thing. Hopefully I can save it if I pop it in a pot. Should i put it in a slightly shadier but still sunny spot?
Any recommendations for how to fill the gap in the the sunniest bed in the garden?
