Mildew on lupin leaves

I have cut off all the powdery mildew leaves of my lupin- how do I prevent this from happening again?- it is in a pot- do I move it to a sunnier position and avoid water on the leaves?

It's often a sign that the plant is too dry. They do like sun but I would check the moisture and try standing the pot in water for a couple of hours to hydrate it. You need a really big pot for a lupin, too, they prefer life in the soil.
