What's wrong with my honeysuckle?

This year the normally problem free honeysuckle has marks on the leaves which are falling, see below.  Conversely my roses which normally have black spot don't (fingers crossed).  What is going on?

It’s the beginning of powdery mildew. Honeysuckles are prone to this when they are stressed by drought. The soil below the surface is very dry
this year ... give your honeysuckle two buckets full of water a day for the next three days then two buckets full twice a week from now until mid September ... more often if we have a hot dry spell.
    😊

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Thank you very much for your solution and cure.  It's a good thing for the honeysuckle that we will not be going away any time soon!
