Loganberries and Pigeons

Hi - My first loganberries are beginning to form. I 'share' my garden with a colony of pigeons and obviously I don't want them getting in there first. The berries are still green, starting to take on the slightest tinge of red. How ripe do the berries need to be for the birds to be interested? I keep reading conflicting things online (as ever!). I have some mesh to cover the plants but there's still some flowers with bees and other insects bobbing about. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

I've never grown loganberries, but I have summer-fruiting raspberries, and the birds don't seem interested in them.  On the other hand, I have already netted my cherry trees, although the cherries look like peas, the birds are already sampling them.

Thanks. I think they'd struggle to get at them with how they are trained but I also think - knowing that crowd - that caution is probably the way to go...
