Camassias

For the second year running my blue camassia flowers are dying off from the base before they fully bloom leaving only the top of the flower in bloom. Any ideas what is causing this?

They start flowering at the bottom, so those die off first  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • They don't actually come out fully. The first couple of years they had lovely blooms, but it's like something is preventing them actually flowering properly.

    Are they in damp ground?
They need to be in ground which doesn't dry out to perform well.  :)

  • I don't think it's too dry but will check. Thanks.
