It looks a bit like a nightshade so could be toxic.
    Hopefully someone can id it

Just looked it up and I think you might be right. That will come out tomorrow (carefully!). Thanks.

Just pulled out what I can, but can’t get at the root so will have to keep an eye on it. I got a better picture of the flowers. Does anyone know if it’s definitely deadly nightshade? It was climbing through jasmine.

I think I’ve found the answer: woody nightshade (solanum dulcamara). Deadly nightshade flowers are different.

Yes it is solanum dulcamara, also know as bittersweet nightshade, definitely not deadly nightshade, though still toxic. It has lovely bright red berries, and the flowers are pretty too, I'd keep it... but I'm weird! If you train it to climb elsewhere it won't hinder the jasmine.

I'm glad the mystery is solved and no one got poisoned in the process :)

There’s nowhere much else it can go other than through the jasmine, But if it grows back I might let it have a bit of controlled romping around, as the flowers are pretty. Thanks everyone for the help.
